Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes Twins unLIMited different from other online fitness programs?

Twins unLIMited was founded by 64-year-old twin sisters, Donna and Debbie, who don’t just teach vitality—they live it. Our program is uniquely designed by and for people in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond. We specialize in safe, effective exercises for those managing post-surgical recovery, arthritis, osteoporosis, and other age-related conditions. This isn’t a generic workout; it’s a targeted practice for lifelong mobility.

2. I have Arthritis / Osteoporosis / a Heart Condition, Are these classes safe for me?

Absolutely. Safety is our top priority. Our programs are specifically designed with your condition in mind.

For Heart Conditions and post-stroke recovery, we emphasize controlled cardio and strength building to improve cardiovascular health under careful guidance.

For Arthritis, we focus on low-impact movements to lubricate joints and strengthen supporting muscles without causing pain.

For Osteoporosis, we incorporate safe, weight-bearing exercises and resistance training to improve bone density and balance.

We always recommend getting clearance from your doctor before starting any new exercise program.

3. I’m recovering from knee/hip surgery. Can this program help me?

Yes. Our “Rebuild & Recover” program is perfect for you. We provide gentle, progressive movements to restore range of motion, rebuild strength around the joint, and regain confidence in your body’s ability to heal. It’s the perfect complement to your physical therapy.

4. I have balance problems and am afraid of falling. Do you address this?

This is one of our primary specialties. Fear of falling can significantly limit your life, and our program is designed to directly combat that. We progressively and safely incorporate balance training into nearly every session. This includes:
Static and Dynamic Balance Drills: From holding onto a chair for support to eventually performing controlled movements without assistance.
Leg and Core Strengthening: A strong core and lower body are your best defense against falls.
Proprioception Exercises: These “retrain” your brain to understand where your body is in space, which is critical for preventing stumbles.
Our method will systematically build your confidence and stability, helping you feel more secure on your feet.

5. I have been diagnosed with COPD. Can I safely participate in this program?

Yes, and it can be profoundly beneficial. For individuals with COPD, the goal is to improve breathing efficiency and functional strength without causing breathlessness. Our program is ideal because:

Strengthen Respiratory Muscles: The exercises are designed to strengthen not just your limbs, but also the muscles used for breathing, making every breath more effective.
We will provide specific modifications and encourage you to work at your own pace, always prioritizing your breath. Consulting with your pulmonologist before starting is highly recommended.

We Teach Breathing Techniques: You will learn coordinated breathing (like pursed-lip breathing) during exercises to prevent air trapping and shortness of breath.

Focus on Pacing: Our workouts are built around intervals and pacing, not intensity. We build endurance slowly and safely.
